I have cough and cold symptoms, can I be seen in the clinic?
Here at The Local Doctor, we have been been committed to providing face to face consultations with clinical assessments for our patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we do want to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible. Therefore, we ask that if you have any fever, cough, or respiratory symptoms, even if you have recently tested negative to COVID-19, to please alert our receptionist when you arrive for your consultation and to stay in your car. Our doctors will start the consultation with a phone call and then assess you in the carpark in protective gear. If you currently have a COVID-19 infection and need to be assessed clinically, please let the reception beforehand, and the doctor will inform you if it may be more appropriate for you to be assessed in the state-run respiratory clinics.
You can also chose to make a Telehealth consultation and receive advice from the doctor from your home. Where possible, a face-to-face appointment is preferred so that the doctor can assess you clinically.
Do you offer COVID-19 testing?
If clinically appropriate, your doctor can in most cases perform a COVID-19 PCR test during the consultation. Please note that a consultation fee will be incurred. You will receive your result by SMS from the pathology company.
Do you offer COVID-19 vaccination?
We have the Pfizer vaccination available. Please make a booking online.
Are you still doing skin cancer checks and procedures?
We are still providing short skin reviews and full skin checks.
Please note- a mask is still required at all times while in the clinic.
